These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of this website, operated by Medicare Information Center, which markets its services as The Insurance Professor ("we," "us," or "our"). By using this site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Nothing Here Is an Offer of Insurance
The information on this site is for general education only. Nothing on this website is an offer to sell insurance, a binding quote, or a policy. No coverage exists until an application is submitted, underwritten and approved by an insurance carrier, and the terms of any policy are governed solely by the actual policy documents. Product availability, benefits and rates vary by carrier, plan and location.
2. Licensing
Earl Doucette is a licensed independent insurance agent, National Producer Number 2526975, licensed in California, Texas and Arizona. Our office and in-person service are in Moreno Valley, California. Not all products are available in all states.
3. How We Are Paid
When you enroll in a plan through us, we are paid a commission by the insurance carrier. This commission does not increase your premium. We are held to acting in our clients' interest and do not charge a separate fee for consultations.
4. No Guarantee of Results
We work to match you with suitable coverage, but we do not guarantee any specific plan, price, benefit, or outcome. Any figure or example on this site is illustrative and subject to carrier underwriting and the terms of the actual policy.
SMS Terms of Service
By opting in to SMS from a form on this site or verbally, you agree to receive text messages from The Insurance Professor. This may include appointment reminders and follow-up messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help and STOP to opt out at any time.
5. SMS Consent
The phone numbers obtained through the SMS consent process are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Types of SMS Messages
If you consent, you may receive appointment reminders, for example: "Reminder: your consultation with Earl is today at 2pm. Reply STOP to opt out. The Insurance Professor."
You may also receive follow-up messages, for example: "Following up on your plan review. Reply STOP to opt out. The Insurance Professor."
7. SMS Frequency, Opt-Out and Help
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or reply HELP for assistance. You may also contact us directly to be removed from our messaging list.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Riverside County, California.
